General information

What if a small contribution from you could become a real opportunity for someone trying to start over under very difficult circumstances?

This is the idea behind the campaign Plant your seed, launched by CEHDA: a crowdfunding initiative to sustain a social and labour inclusion model for migrants in vulnerable situations. The project combines residential support, training in ecological horticulture, and legal assistance.

These are people who arrive with experience and skills, but face major barriers: no housing, no legal documents, and very limited opportunities. And yet, with the right support, they can move forward.

This is not theory. It is real life.

Each process with every person requires months of individual support. Over the past year, this has resulted in:

  • 13 people receiving residential support
  • 18 people trained in organic horticulture
  • 4 successful job placements in the agricultural sector

Main features and goals of the crowdfunding campaign

At the centre of this project is the garden in Sant Vicenç dels Horts (Catalonia): a space where training becomes experience, habits, and real opportunities for employment.

The Heart of the Project: The Sant Vicenç dels Horts Garden

This garden is located in the Baix Llobregat Agricultural Park, where we carry out practical training, grow vegetables, and harvest produce. The garden is essential to the project because it is where migrant participants can apply and improve their agricultural skills. It is a space for coexistence and learning, and also a place where we can offer workshops for schools and other community activities.

But this model can only continue if we sustain it collectively.

That is why we are launching this campaign, with the goal of raising between €10,000 and €30,000 to ensure the continuity of residential support, the operation of the garden, training programmes, and legal assistance.

And this is where you come in.

Because every contribution, no matter how small, is a seed. A seed that becomes tools, training, legal support, food, housing, and above all, real opportunities for someone to start again.

This is not just a donation. It is making it possible for a project that is already working and transforming lives to remain alive.

We are not starting from scratch. But without support, we cannot continue.

Some seeds only need someone willing to plant them.

Plant your seed. Help us make it grow.

Project Objectives

General Objective

  • To promote socio-labour inclusion processes for migrants in vulnerable situations through a comprehensive model of reception, training, and support.

Specific Objectives

  • Guarantee residential reception and stabilisation spaces
  • Develop practical training in organic horticulture
  • Facilitate administrative regularisation processes
  • Consolidate the garden as a training and pre-employment space

Description of the Solution (Value Proposition)

The project is structured around a comprehensive model based on three complementary pillars:

  1. Residential support: covering basic needs and providing stability
  2. Practical agroecological training: developing skills in a real-life working environment
  3. Legal accompaniment: support in administrative regularisation processes

This approach makes it possible to sustain medium-term inclusion pathways, adapted to the needs and pace of each participant.

Results and Expected Impact

Previous results (2025)

  • 13 people received residential support
  • 4 people obtained residence and work permits in the agricultural sector
  • 18 participants in agroecological training
  • Consolidation of a continuous hands-on learning space

Expected impact

  • Continuity of inclusion pathways
  • Improved employability for participants
  • Access to regularisation processes
  • Strengthening of a replicable socio-labour inclusion model

Why this is important

There are several aspects that make this a strong and meaningful project. One of its core pillars is organic agriculture, combined with the defence of migrant rights. This combination, together with years of experience putting it into practice, gives the project its identity and strength.

Open character and social return

The project generates social value in terms of inclusion, access to rights, and social cohesion. In addition:

  • It works in network with local organisations
  • It promotes knowledge transfer through training
  • It aims to share results and impact with the wider community

Project Maturity

This is an ongoing project with demonstrated results and a well-established intervention structure. The campaign is not intended to launch a new initiative, but to ensure the continuity and consolidation of an existing model.

Conclusion

The project offers a concrete and effective response to a relevant social challenge through an integrated model that combines reception, training, and legal support. The crowdfunding campaign will help ensure its continuity and expand its impact.

Team and experience

At CEHDA, we have spent more than nineteen years creating opportunities for people who have come a long way thanks to the support of members, partners, and collaborators who believe in migrant justice and sustainability. On our website you can find a summary of our projects in Catalonia and Ghana.

Over these nineteen years, we have overcome many obstacles and collectively learned how to support one another, care for one another, and work together for a fairer world where migration is both a right and an option accessible to all.

We are simply people supporting and accompanying people. In doing so:

  • We are authentic because we put people at the centre and address the causes and impacts of migration with lived experience and deep understanding, as many staff members and volunteers have personally experienced the injustices we work on.
  • We are unique because we work from a glocal perspective, both in countries of origin and destination, integrating social and environmental aspects of migration.
  • We are solution-oriented because we follow through on our commitments in a creative, comprehensive, professional, intercultural and feminist way, while fostering the diverse skills of our teams.
